Warrawong Warriors @ Uni Futsal – Game 7
14-5 Loss (Rob 3 goals, Brian 1 Goal, Dean 1 Goal)

After losing Nathan to a snapped Achilles for the rest of the season, the Warriors were always going to be up against it, starting this game. The team we faced had conceeded more goals than us so far so we were a little optimistic.

We started slow conceeding after about 4 seconds, however Rob evened things up after breaking free and easily side-footing past the keeper. The opposition were very energetic and we found ourselves down 5-1 very quickly after some woeful defending from everyone. Rob got another goal however we leaked more goals and went into the break 8-2 down.

The second half started well with Rob, Dean and Brian all scoring quickly to bring the game back to a respectable 8-5. Things looked up. For about 20 seconds. We continued to create chances but they just wouldn’t find the back of the net. Every venture up the field from the Warriors seemed to open the door for the opposition to score a cheap goal.

Even though the scoreline blew out, we created many more chances than previous weeks, also scoring more goals than ever before.

Warrawong Warriors @ Uni Futsal – Game 5
5-1 Loss (Dean 1 goal)

We played a stronger team than the previous week and ended up with a similar score-line which probably shows that we are getting better. We controlled a lot of the game in the first half, only conceding a goal just before half time.

Fitness has improved however we still have a few lapses in defence at the critical times. That said, we didn’t leave much on the pitch at the end of the game with all of us gasping for air after the final whistle.

Dean scored our only goal when we were 3-0 down, which gave a little hope of a comeback, but we faded once again in the final stages.

Warrawong Warriors @ Uni Futsal – Game 3
13-2 Loss (Dean 2 goals)

Our second game and a few new faces into the team saw us take on quite possibly the strongest team in our competition. 2-0 down in the first 30 seconds was an ominous sign. We persevered and after conceding a few more Dean found the back of the net to trail 6-1 at half time. The second half was more of the same, seeing us capitulate to a 13-1 deficit before Dean once again scored a double to finish the game.

A lot to work on in the coming weeks – we can only improve from now on.

The venue is the Figtree Anglican Church from 9:00am until 3:00pm with lunch provided. The total cost is $10.00 for the day.

Warrawong Warriors @ Uni Futsal – Game 1
6-2 Loss (Dean 2 goals)

Our first game resulted in a 6-2 Loss, although considering the makeup of our team and the quality of the opposition, we played well.

Trailing 1-0 at half time, we were confident going into the 2nd half however our lack of fitness was obvious and we quickly fell behind 5-0. Two quick goals from Dean saw us get back into the game, however another easy goal for our opponents saw the game finish 6-2.
